In the 1920th it was built a southern railway route and Hua Hin was discovered. The British constructors of the railway built the first golf course here and the King Rama 4 was so exited of this beautiful place so he built a summer palace and named it Klai Kung Won (Far From Worries).
The former fishing village has now 50,000 inhabitants and many thousand foreigner lives here all year round or periodically. For tourists we have a Hilton (18 floors), Sofitel and many other 5 to 3 stars hotel. Hua Hin has many numbers of Guesthouses own by foreigner who like to live here.
Hua Hin has 6 golf courses with International standard designed of the very best designers in the world. Hua Hin is a golfing Mecca.
It has fine beaches, excellent seafood, good shopping and lots of restaurants. 70% of the tourists are repeat visitors to Hua Hin against 60% for the whole of Thailand. Very little nightlife and very family friendly.
Hua Hin has everything in walking distance but why not rent a push-bike to get rid of the extra kilos you will gain here. Hua Hin is very green with lots of fresh air from the Gulf of Siam.
